Why Rent Chickens

Here are just a few reasons why you should rent chickens!

Eggs

You will never enjoy making breakfast more than with eggs from your own flock.  Studies have shown that backyard chickens actually lay more nutritious eggs when provided a good life and diet compared to commercial store-bought eggs.

Why rent chickens? Fresh eggs daily! Brown and white farm fresh eggs in a bowl.

Companionship

Your flock will become apart of the family.  Recognized as Emotional Support Animals.  Chickens make excellent baby sitters and will occupy young and old for hours. We call it Chicken TV. The social dynamics of chickens are highly complex and watching their interactions is highly entertaining. Rental chickens can at first be timid, but will become acquainted and respond to you and your routines.

Compost

Enrich your garden and soil with natural fertilizer. Chicken poop breaks down quickly. We provide wood shavings to keep the coop clean and

Food Security

We haven’t bought eggs in the store for years.  Forget what they taste like.  But everyone who buys eggs from us always compliments the flavour and you will instantly notice and appreciate the difference in quality. At an egg a day, there isn’t anything else in nature that provides such bounty.  If you are interested in food security for your family’s meat, please see our program here

Entertainment

We have been keeping chickens for years, and there is still nothing more entertaining to us than letting the chickens out to play and forage in our yard. Kids will find great joy in training the chickens to do simple tricks and some kids have become better chicken handlers than us in short time. Guests to your house will be fascinated and envious of your new feathered friends.
